WOODBURY - A year after six Long Island Catholic schools were shut down, it appears five other schools have been deemed “safe.”
According to Newsday, five schools put on a “watch list” by the Diocese of Rockville Centre are not in danger of closing.
The schools include St. Dominic in Oyster Bay, St. Edward the Confessor in Syosset, St. Isidore School in Riverhead, Our Lady of Mercy in Cutchogue, and Our Lady Queen of Apostles in Center Moriches.
St. Dominic’s will have two classes for every grade come fall.
According to officials, admission is expected to be up at all the schools.
