5.3-magnitude earthquake hits Dominican Republic

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - According to reports, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Domincan Republic this morning.

Officials are not reporting any major damages or injuries.

In January 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake killed more than 300,000 people in Haiti, which shares the Carribean Island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic.
