WOODBURY - Drivers hitting the roads this holiday weekend should expect a lot of company.

According to AAA, about 40 million Americans will be traveling 50 miles or more to their destination.

While traffic is expected, the good news is gas prices are the lowest they have been in five months. The average price for a gallon of regular gas on Long Island is $3.76.

Meanwhile, state police are now putting extra effort into their crackdown on texting while driving. The new state initiative lasts all summer long.
