RIVERHEAD - Four teenagers are being charged as adults with a hate crime in a robbery spree that police say targeted Hispanic men.

Police say Kyree Johnson, 14, Justin Stridiron, 14, Nykwon Harrison, 16, and Eric Mann, 16, brutally beat and robbed Hispanic men in Huntington Station. Prosecutors claim the four called it “papi slumping,” which involved hitting the victims in the back of the head, punching and kicking them, and then stealing the victims’ wallets, cellphones and shoes.

Prosecutors say the boys attacked four victims on Dec. 1 and Dec. 7 in the streets of Huntington Station and on the bridge at the railroad station.

The boys are charged with robbery in the second degree as a hate crime. If convicted, they face a minimum of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 25 years. Prosecutors say there were two other teens also arrested and charged, but that's currently under investigation.
