WOODBURY - The Babylon, Central Islip, Rocky Point and Smithtown school districts missed out on much-needed state aid after failing to meet deadlines, but they still have a chance to get the money.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) says the four districts will be able to re-apply for the $48 million in construction aid under his new budget.

However, Newsday reports that the districts may be docked part of the aid as a penalty for missing the original deadline.
