LAKEVIEW - Police say a teenaged girl from Nassau County agreed to meet with a man to get a job, but it was a robbery setup.

Police say 17-year-old Kayla Gries, of Malverne, met the man at 2 a.m. Sunday on Pinelake Drive in Lakeview.

According to police, when the man got there he spotted a strange man, Jason Thurmond, of New Hyde Park, and took off in his car.

Police say Thurmond fired a gunshot and hit the man's dashboard.

Cops have arrested four people in connection with the attempted robbery, Thurmond, Gries, Michael Thompson, of Lakeview, and Jamal Davis, of Hempstead, who they say were also there.
