4 arrested after jewelery store robbery

MANHASSET - Police arrested four suspects who they say robbed a Manhasset jewelry store at gunpoint this afternoon.

According to those close to the incident, the robbers pulled guns on a clerk inside London Jewelers and ordered everyone in the store to the ground. The four men then mashed a case and made off with tens of thousands of dollars worth of Rolex watches and other jewelry.

The suspects left the store and jumped into a waiting black Escalade on Northern Boulevard. Police pursued the vehicle, which came to an end after the suspects Escalade crashed near exit 33 on the LIE. Two of the suspects were apprehended after running onto the Lake Success golf course. The other two suspects were arrested just over the border into Queens.

The 13 store employees and one shopper inside the store at the time were not hurt.
