WOODBURY - Officials say three races for the Suffolk County Legislature are still too close to call.

The Suffolk Board of Elections began counting ballots in the 18th District today and auditing 3 percent of all of its voting machines.

According to Newsday, the race between Democrat William Spencer and Republican Elizabeth Black has Spencer ahead.

Election officials will also recount votes in the 7th Legislative District between Democrat Rob Calarco and Republican John Giannott.

The votes in the 6th District between Democrat Sarah Anker and Republican Karen Wilutis will also be recounted.

In Nassau County, three races that could affect the balance of power in the legislature also face recounts.

Officials say they'll start tallying paper ballots on Wednesday.

The Nassau County Board of Elections says it should start counting absentee ballots by the end of the week.
