3 NYPD officers shot in Bronx, Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - Officials say three NYPD officers are recovering after being shot in two different incidents that took place an hour apart.

The three officers were wounded in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

According to police, around 6:30 p.m. last night off-duty cop Juan Pichardo was shot in the thigh.The shooting happened during a struggle with two men who were allegedly trying to rob his family's car dealership in the Bronx.

Police say four men are now under arrest for the incident.

Then at 7:30 p.m. last night, officers Lukasz Kozicki and Michael Levay stopped a man walking between subway cars in Brooklyn and he allegedly opened fire.

Officials say officer Levay killed the gunman.

All three officers are expected to survive.
