WOODBURY - Three suspected thieves were indicted Thursday for allegedly stealing more than $170,000 worth of tires and rims from dealerships, as well as new appliances from homes under construction.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old Wesley Tyler, 19-year-old Tyler McDonald and 23-year-old Joseph Clark started their crime spree January of last year.

They allegedly burglarized empty homes in Wading River, Eastport, East Moriches and Manorville. The dealerships they allegedly stole from include Nardy Honda, Competition Toyota, Chevrolet of Smithtown, Smithtown Volkswagen, Smith Haven Chrysler Jeep Dodge Smithtown Ford, Ford Lincoln of Huntington and Mitsubishi 112.

Prosecutors say they have surveillance video of Tyler using a U-Haul to unload the stolen merchandise and put it in his garage, located on Washington Avenue in St. James.

The district attorney's office tells News 12 that Tyler would use his Facebook page to try to sell the stolen items. Court documents reveal that McDonald allegedly confessed to his role in the crime spree, but on Thursday his attorney denied McDonald's involvement.

The three men are from St. James, Farmingville and East Patchogue.
