MINEOLA - Police say three young men were arrested and a fourth is being sought after they blew up mailboxes and led officers on a chase in an booze-fueled crime spree.Daniel Aviles, 21, of Farmingdale, John Pinzon, 20, of West Hempstead, and Jacob Guerrero, of West Hempstead, were arraigned on a slew of charges this afternoon. According to police, the suspects used a powerful mortar firework to blow up a mailbox outside a home on Clement Avenue in Elmont at 2 a.m. yesterday. A few hours later, they struck again at a public stand-alone mailbox on Madison Street. They are also accused of blowing up a third mailbox in front of a home on Hunnewell Avenue.Police caught the trio after receiving calls of an SUV racing erratically through a West Hempstead neighborhood. Police say Aviles was swerving and the occupants were heard screaming out of the windows.Authorities say the suspects would not pull over for responding officers and then led them on a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended when the SUV flipped and landed on its roof in West Hempstead. No one was seriously injured and Aviles was arrested on drunken driving charges. Police say there was a smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and say they found multiple alcoholic beverages in the car. A fourth young man who was in the car is still on the loose, investigators say. They describe the motive for the spree as "random violence."Police search for suspect who used explosives to blow up mailboxes
