BRENTWOOD - Three Brentwood students are among 57 Long Island kids who have been named semifinalists in a prestigious national science contest.
Norman Cao says he'll never forget receiving the call yesterday after returning inside his Bay Shore home from shoveling snow.
"I was completely surprised," Cao says.
Two of Cao's classmates at Brentwood High School, Kendra Cornejo and Sharon Varghese, were also named semifinalists in the Intel Science Talent Search. Nearly 1,800 high school students nationwide entered the competition this year, but only 300 have made it to the semifinals.
The finalists are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
