SELDEN - Nearly two dozen tenants have been forced out of their Selden apartment complex after a pipe burst overnight.

Officials say 6 feet of water flooded the basement of the Village of the Woods apartment complex.

Officials say the pipe burst around 7 p.m. Sunday. They say the water was turned off, so the water could be pumped out.

One resident told News 12 Long Island that most of the families were forced to leave and stay at a relative's house or a hotel.

There is no word on when the evacuees will be allowed back in the home.

No one was injured during the incident.
