Police say a 2-year-old girl died yesterday in a fatal accident on the Southern State Parkway.According to officials, the woman driving the vehicle lost control

BRENTWOOD - Police say a 2-year-old girl died yesterday in a fatal accident on the Southern State Parkway.

According to officials, the woman driving the vehicle lost control and slammed into the woods along the parkway. Officials say the child was restrained properly.

The driver, Tiyala Brooks, of Freeport, was heading westbound and crashed near exit 43 and Route 111. Brooks was taken to Southside Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Police have not released the identity of the 2-year-old girl, but have confirmed that the driver is the girl's mother.

Police say there is no charges against the mother or criminality involved in the accident
