WESTBURY - Two teenagers are in critical condition tonight after two-car collision sent four people to the hospital in Westbury.
Officials say a Chevy Cobalt was traveling west on Salisbury Road when a BMW heading south on Bowling Green Drive slammed into it at a 90-degree angle just after 5:30 p.m.
According to police, the crash sent the BMW flying about four feet off the ground, slicing a utility pole, careening into a tree and overturning several times before coming to a stop upside down.
Police say the 17-year-old driver of the BMW was thrown from the car. They say he and a 16-year-old passenger are in very critical condition, while a third teenaged boy is stable.
Authorities say the 24-year-old woman driving the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The victims' names have not yet been released.
