NEW HYDE PARK - Police say two daytime burglaries in New Hyde Park may be connected.

Adrienne Wolf, one of the victims, says she panicked when police called to tell her that her house had been burglarized around 3:30 p.m. She was at work when the intruders entered her Evergreen Lane house through an unlocked window, she says.

Police say another house around the corner on Blossom Lane was also hit the same afternoon.

That made two burglaries within a two-block radius in a neighborhood that residents say hadn't had a burglary in almost 30 years.

And although the suspect escaped, Wolf says one of her neighbors was able to take a picture of his license plate and give it to police.
