2-legged friend teaches kids about having Faith in oneself

While Faith is two limbs short of being called a four-legged friend, the 9-year-old Chow Chow mix put her best paw forward today in teaching

NORTH MERRICK - While Faith is two limbs short of being called a four-legged friend, the 9-year-old Chow Chow mix put her best paw forward today in teaching kids in North Merrick an important lesson about believing in oneself.

The pooch was born with only two normal legs and one deformed limb, which was taken off during surgery. Faith's owner, Jude Stringfellow, says her son found the tiny puppy at a flea market and brought her home.

"We named her 'Faith' when she began walking on her own because she chose to do it," Stringfellow says. "She had faith in herself."

And that is the message the two-legged pet brought to children at the Camp Avenue Elementary School today.

"I think that she shows kids all over the world never to give up," says sixth-grade student Jake Gedacht.USA Benefits Group
