2 Farmingdale students killed in small plane crash; 1 survives

FARMINGDALE - Students at Farmingdale State College are coping with the death of two students just one day before graduation.

Officials say three aviation students headed out on a single engine plane for Republic Airport when it crashed after taking off in Pennsylvania on Wednesday night.

Officials say moments after takeoff, the engine stalled and sent the plane nose first into the woods. Two of the students died, one survived.

News 12 Long Island spoke to the only survivor's father by phone. His father identified him as 21-year-old Evan Kisseloff, of Oceanside.

Kisseloff found a window in the plane was broken and was able to pull himself out through it and immediately called 911. Killed in the crash were Patrick Sheridan, 34, of Long Beach, and Casey Falconer, 19, of Garden City Park. Sheridan was a senior and was set to graduate Saturday. Casey Falconer was a sophomore.
