BETHPAGE - Police are searching for the driver who struck two people on a bicycle in Bethpage this morning, killing one of them.

The accident happened at the intersection of Hicksville Road and Brenner Avenue just after 6 a.m., when police say a white box truck slammed into the two riders and took off from the scene.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, where one of them, 32-year-old Stephen Marano, of Bethpage, died of his injuries. The other person is listed in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the fatal hit-and-run accident is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
