WOODBURY - Several beaches around Nassau County have been closed to bathing this afternoon.

The 19 beaches have been closed due to the storm runoff potentially elevating the bacterial levels in the water.

The North Shore has 14 beaches closed, while 5 are closed on the South Shore.

Beaches Closed to Bathing

Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 19 beaches to bathing as a precautionary measure, effective today, May 25, 2013.
