14-year-old old struck by teen driver in Copiague

COPIAGUE - Police say a 14-year-old girl was hit by a car in Copiague. According to officials, the teen was on Straight Path and 29th Street in Copiague when she was hit by a car around 7:30 p.m. last night.

Investigators say the 17-year-old driver from Amityville left the scene but came back shortly after. The victim is expected to be OK. The unidentified driver is charged with failing to remain at the scene, a misdemeanor.
