An 11-year-old boy is facing arson charges after allegedly setting a fire in Hicksville that left a dozen people homeless. Police say the house fire

HICKSVILLE - An 11-year-old boy is facing arson charges after allegedly setting a fire in Hicksville that left a dozen people homeless.

Police say the house fire started Saturday afternoon after the boy used a lighter to ignite plastic packing material inside a garage on the property.

The 11-year-old boy was released to his mother's custody and is scheduled to appear in Family Court on June 17.
