CENTER MORICHES - One child in Suffolk is raising money to make sure kids halfway around the world have safe drinking water.
Bevin Gerhauser, 11, started her clean water project in Center Moriches.
Gerhauser is collecting money from returning bottles, lemonade stands, bake sales and more. She is donating the money to Compassion International, which provides safe drinking water to people in developing countries.

Gerhauser started her journey last May. Since then, she has raised more than $7,500.
She hopes to raise $10,000.
