SMITHTOWN - An unauthorized person on the tracks was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train on the Port Jefferson Branch Wednesday morning. 

LIRR service was suspended briefly in both directions between Huntington and Port Jefferson. 

No details were released on the condition of the person hit or how the accident happened.
