1 person killed in Melville house fire on New York Avenue

Police tell News 12 Long Island there's been a deadly house fire in Melville.

Crews rushed to the scene of a New York Avenue blaze last night.

Firefighters were seen entering the smoky, charred home at around 9:45 p.m.

Authorities are only confirming that one person was killed in the fire.

There is no word on age or identity.

The cause has not been determined.
