FORT SALONGA - Police say a 51-year-old man is dead after a fire broke out at a home in Fort Salonga early this morning.

According to police, a resident of Juliet Lane called 911 to report that a neighbor's home was on fire at 12:51 a.m.

Police found the victim, Timothy Salsone, on a bed in the master bedroom.

Arson investigators and homicide detectives are now collecting evidence and will also rely on the medical examiner's report to find out how Salsone, a resident of the home, died.

"We'll have an idea if this is a homicide or just a death investigation," says Detective Lt. Gerard Pelkofsy.
