ISLIP - A woman is dead after police say her car went off the road on the Southern State Parkway early this morning.

Police say calls started coming in at around 4:30 a.m. about a car off the road, between westbound exits 42 and 43 on the Southern State Parkway.

Traffic was reduced to one lane as the investigation continued.

The identity of the woman killed has not been released.
