1 injured after LIRR train strikes car in Mattituck
The incident happened just before noon. (February 13, 2013)
MATTITUCK - The Long Island Rail Road confirms a car was hit by a train at Elijahs Lane in Mattituck.
Southold police say the collision happened just before noon and that there was one minor injury.
The LIRR says the car has been removed from the track. The tracks have been inspected, and trains are cleared to resume normal operations.
