OCEANSIDE - A 50-foot yacht went up in flames in Oceanside this afternoon.

Six departments responded to the canal along Illona Lane, and officials say there was a considerable amount of fuel onboard the boat. The dock to which the vessel was attached was also destroyed.

Family members say they were having a celebration on the dock when someone noticed smoke emerging from one of the boat's cabins.

Three homes were damaged as the boat broke free from its moorings and drifted down the canal.

Officials say three people at nearby Oceanside Park were overcome with smoke inhalation from the flames, and one was transported to the hospital.

Investigators say an electrical problem may have sparked the blaze.
