News 12 Connecticut's Frank Recchia is asking the public for help finding his brother who has been missing for nearly three weeks.
Peter Recchia's daughter, Bunny Rodriguez, says she typically talks to her father constantly throughout the day. That's why she knew something was wrong when she didn't hear from him on Thursday, Oct. 3.
"This is a very difficult time," said Frank Recchia. "It would be difficult for anybody to deal with and it's hard to know what to say except that we hope and pray that Peter will come home safely to us."
Rodriguez describes her father as a loving man and an avid walker.
Peter Recchia lives in Middletown. He was last seen on surveillance video from an Exxon in New Haven a day after he was reported missing.
His family says Peter Recchia suffers from medical and mental health issues and has dementia-like symptoms. He has no history of violence and could be confused.
Frank Recchia says the police are ending their search for his brother - so now, he and his niece are leaning on the community for support.
"Please know Peter that you're loved, you're treasured. Whatever you're going through, we can go through it better together. We hope you're home safely soon," said Frank Recchia.
A silver alert has been issued for Peter Recchia.
Anyone with information on Peter Recchia's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Rodriguez to help find her father.
