It's a new beginning for the Hofstra men's basketball team.

After 15 years at Niagra College, Joe Mihalich will lead the Pride as head coach. With losses on the court and arrests off the court last year, Mihalich says he's bringing a new attitude and some new players this season.

"You take a history class so you can learn from the past," said Mihalich. "Repeat the good things, don't repeat the bad things. It was a learning lesson for a lot of people."

The season kicks off at Hofstra on Friday, Nov. 8, where the Pride will play Monmouth University. The women's team will play on the road the same night against Robert Morris University.
