Fotis Dulos’ former employee Pawel Gumienny appears to now be a key witness in the case against him.
The re-arrests this week of Dulos and Michelle Troconis shed light on what investigators think happened to missing New Canaan mother Jennifer Dulos on May 24.
“He's disappointed he got drawn into all of this,” says Lindy Urso, Gumienny’s attorney. “He's just a hardworking guy, a father, a family man just trying to earn a living.”
Urso says Gumienny quit working for Fotis Dulos when he and Michelle Troconis were first charged in early June. The new arrest warrants show police believe Fotis Dulos borrowed Gumienny's red truck the morning Jennifer Dulos disappeared.
Through surveillance footage, investigators traced the truck traveling to New Canaan, where it was seen parked just 100 feet from the spot where Jennifer Dulos’ SUV was later found abandoned.

According to the warrant, Gumienny told detectives Fotis Dulos later took the truck to be washed and detailed, which surveillance footage confirmed.
Gumienny also said Dulos told him repeatedly to replace the truck's seats. He did so but kept the original ones in case investigators came around, which they did.

”Obviously a lot of red flags went up at that point. And thankfully he was smart enough, wise enough to hang on to those seats,” says Urso.
Police say tests on a blood-like substance found on a seat came back positive to Jennifer Dulos' DNA.
Urso also told News 12 Connecticut that he thinks the state's attorney has more evidence against Dulos that's not in the warrant. Urso says it's unlikely the state's attorney would show his entire hand now for a potential murder charge.
