BROOKVILLE - Nassau BOCES outdoor adventure camp is teaching campers lessons about survival, trust and self-confidence.

This is the first year for the five-day summer camp run by BOCES and Hofstra University.

Campers say they learn about communicating with each other, team work and problem solving during exercises. They take part in ice-breaker activities and rock climbing as well.

James Carolann, a BOCES environmentalist, says the activities help kids to think out of the box.
