A teenager was arraigned today in connection with two Valley Stream sex attacks.
The Nassau District Attorney's Office says 17-year-old Nashane Peterkin raped a woman in her 60s at Valley Stream State Park just after 11 a.m. on Sept. 1. Peterkin is also accused of attempting to rape a 30-year-old pregnant woman near the Valley Stream train station on Aug. 12, but the victim was able to fight off her attacker and flee.
Peterkin was arrested by state police a week after the alleged attack in Valley Stream State Park.
Peterkin pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Mineola today. He is due back in court Oct. 29.
