N. Amityville family says homeless FL beating victim is long lost relative
A family in North Amityville is convinced that one of the homeless men beaten in Florida is their long lost relative.
Raymond Perez, 49, is one of three men brutally beaten by teenagers near Fort Lauderdale earlier in the month. One of the victims died as a result of the attack, which was caught on videotape. Melissa Perez believes Raymond Perez is her uncle. The family hasn?t heard from him in 14 years.
There was initially conflicting information on whether Perez was indeed a relative of the family. But now family members are convinced he is a relative and have spoken to him on the phone. He asked them not to visit him yet and the Perez family says they will respect his privacy.
