A unique exhibit is now docked on the Yonkers waterfront.

A one-of-a-kind glass barge has made it way to the Yonkers Recreation Pier, sailing all the way from Corning, New York, which is home to the Corning Museum of Glass.

The barge is fully equipped with the museum's patented all-electric glassmaking equipment and is part of a four-month tour across the waterways of New York State.

The 30 x 80 foot barge gives residents and tourists a chance to help commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Brooklyn Flint Glass Company, now known as Corning Incorporated, a center for artistic and technological innovations in glass.

The barge sailed in to Yonkers through the New York waterways, and through June 3, the public is invited to come onboard and enjoy free glassblowing demonstrations. "All of the schools, kids, families, come have an amazing weekend. It's a thrill to bring our artistry and be here," says Corning Museum of Glass Senior Director Rob Cassetti.
