Traffic trouble leads to DOT speed testing

Riverhead and Shelter Island towns are both asking for the right to lower speed limits on certain accident-prone roads and intersections.

Traffic trouble in two Suffolk towns has gotten so bad that the towns are asking the State Department of Transportation to look into lowering the speed limit.
