MTA officials have made changes to work plan on the L train that they say are more efficient and won't impact service as much.
L train riders were supposed to see service outages during six weekends, but now that number has been cut in half.
The MTA says the first round of outages starts tonight and will continue this weekend. From midnight Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday, there will be no service in Brooklyn between Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction.
This comes as repairs are made at the DeKalb, Morgan, Halsey and Bushwick-Aberdeen stops.
Meanwhile, at the Bedford stop they'll be delivering elevator equipment.
The next outage will happen on the weekend leading up to Presidents Day, Feb. 14 -18. The MTA will be using that holiday to add an extra 24 hours of work.
Trains will once again not run between Lorimer and Broadway junction.
The third and final weekend riders can expect an outage will be March 20 – 23.
Trains will not run from 8 Avenue in Manhattan to Broadway Junction in Brooklyn.
The outages are all for repairs and installation of new equipment along the line. Officials say the project is ahead of schedule and that work is expected to finish by April of this year.

During the outages, including this weekend, the MTA will have free shuttle buses to connect riders. Those buses will stop at the stations that are shutdown.
