A motorcycle ride across Nassau on Sunday paid tribute to a fallen NYPD detective from Massapequa.
It's the second annual Hero's Run to honor Detective Brian Moore. He was killed in the line of duty in May 2015.
The event was created to ensure his name is always remembered, and that his sacrifice is never forgotten.
Hundreds of bikers got on their motorcycles in Elmont in the morning and riding to Farmingdale. The route took the riders by Moore's home and his precinct.
"I think it's a great way that they're remembering Brian," says Raymond Moore, the father of Brian Moore. "It's the second year they're doing this. It shows Brian is not forgotten, and that means everything to me."
The motorcycle run, which also includes a helicopter escort from Nassau County police, is hosted by members of the Vigilance Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.
The Moore family says it is days like this that let them see and hear that people on Long Island have not forgotten NYPD Detective Brian Moore.
