MANHATTAN - Today marks 20 years ago that two Long Islanders were killed when the World Trade Center was bombed.
Monica Smith from Seaford, who was 7 months pregnant, and John DiGovanni from Valley Stream were among six people who died in the first terror attack on the World Trade Center on Feb. 26, 1993.
The attack was a truck bombing that was supposed to bring down the entire North Tower. More than 1,000 people were hurt.
A total of six terrorists were convicted in the attack, including mastermind Ramzi Yousef and blind shiek Omar Abdel-Rahman.
This afternoon there was a Mass for the victims and a moment of silence at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza.
