A Manorville man who police say tried to solicit sex from a teen girl has been taken into custody.

Police say Andrew Quattrone, 38, approached a 15-year-old girl in a parking lot behind 24 East Main St. in Babylon May 13.

They say Quattrone handed the girl a phone with a pre-typed sexually explicit message for her to read, and requested she perform a sex act.

Police say when a friend of the victim appeared, Quattrone fled the scene.

Quattrone is charged with criminal solicitation and endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 27.
