Manhattan men's soccer marks 40 years with a draw
The Manhattan College men's soccer team and Bronx rival Fordham University recently took to the field in a match that ended in a (0-0) draw.
The Jaspers played at Fordham, despite being the home team, due to a blown transformer at their field. The Rams and Jaspers had a combined five shots on the nets. Manhattan missed a prime opportunity to score after a Fordham foul, and again in overtime. Rams goalkeeper Dan Hajducky kept up his end, making two saves.
The game came after a pre-season reception that celebrated the Jaspers' 40th season.
Manhattan opens MCAA play Friday, October 5 against Fairfield University.
