Mangano: Nassau's infrastructure has improved since Sandy
County Executive Ed Mangano says Nassau's infrastructure has improved in the three years since Sandy.
Mangano says the county has invested $890 million in building a stronger sea wall at the Bay Park Treatment Plant. During Sandy, the plant flooded and dumped sewage into the streets and waterways.
The county has also replaced and upgraded emergency response vehicles and generator trailers.
"If you look throughout the county, you'll see significant improvements in terms of infrastructure, in terms of making our county a stronger county, and then you'll also see there are projects we continue to advocate for," says Mangano.
The county still plans to replace traffic signals and upgrade communication technology.
