Police say they are searching for a suspect who stabbed a man in the neck at a deli in Coney Island.

They say the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the World Deli on Neptune Avenue.

According to police, the suspect and victim got into an argument before the suspect came behind the man and stabbed him once in the neck and then started kicking him.

They say customers immediately intervened and were able to keep the suspect from causing any further injuries to the victim.

Officials say the victim was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

They say the suspect ran off. He is described as approximately 5’7” and believed to be in his 40s.
