Charges have been reduced against a Valley Stream man accused of planting a fake bomb outside the Nassau Legislature.
Stephen Figurasmith was arrested in June after placing 120 bottles filled with a red liquid in front of the building's main entrance. That liquid turned out to be water with red food coloring.
Figurasmith says he was peacefully protesting for the human rights of inmates at the Nassau jail.
A judge reduced his felony charge Friday to a misdemeanor.
Figurasmith’s attorney Ron Kuby says he expects the case to be completely dropped when he returns to court next month, and is frustrated that didn't happen already.
Suzanne Myron, 51, who was also arrested in the case, is also expected to accept a plea deal.
