Loved ones say goodbye to pregnant traffic agent
Loved ones gathered Monday to say goodbye to the pregnant traffic agent crushed to death by a van and a bus.
Donnette Sanz was seven months pregnant when she was crossing the street on her lunch break Aug. 14. She was hit by a van and then thrown under a minibus.
Doctors at the hospital were not able to save her, but were able to deliver her son, Sean Michael Justin Sanz. Unfortunately, he died a week later.
Sanz was remembered as a woman who couldn?t wait to become a mother. Sanz was buried with her son in her arms.
Approximately 1,000 mourners, including Mayor Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and hundreds of uniformed traffic agents packed the Community Protestant Church to remember Sanz and her son.
Meanwhile, the accused driver in the incident, Walter Walker, faces charges of criminally negligent homicide and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
