Long Island Disaster Recovery Center opens in Central Islip; will house up to 150 volunteers for Sandy relief
Volunteers helping to rebuild from Superstorm Sandy will now have a place to call home themselves.
The Long Island Disaster Recovery Center is officially open for business in Central Islip.
The new facility is expected to house as many as 150 volunteers who come to Long Island to help rebuild following Superstorm Sandy damage.
The recovery center was made possible through a $600,000 grant from the American Red Cross.
