LIers gather in front of TVs to see inauguration

President Barack Obama was inaugurated today after winning re-election in November. (January 21, 2013)

ROOSEVELT - For many Long Islanders, today was full of enthusiasm, patriotism and pride as President Barack Obama was inaugurated for his second term following his re-election in November.

At the Roosevelt Library, many gathered to see the festivities, from the oath of office and address to the parade.

Many said that the inauguration had special meaning for them because today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which honors the slain civil rights leader.
