An Oceanside woman who scammed Long Islanders out of millions of dollars is heading to prison.
Laurie Schneider was sentenced yesterday to three years in prison for the nearly $7 million scheme.
As News 12 has reported, the 39-year-old woman cheated investors out of cash by lying about low-cost machinery in China. She said she could buy and sell the machinery for a profit in the U.S.
Prosecutors say Schneider used two shell corporations to run the Ponzi scheme and steal money from unsuspecting investors.
