MEDFORD - A group of Long Island canines is heading to Washington, D.C. for President Barack Obama's inauguration.

Nearly 60 service dogs from Canine Companions in Medford have been invited to march in the first family's inaugural parade on Jan. 21. The organization was one of 43 of 2,800 applicants chosen for the parade.
